In 1901, as a guest of the old Alaska-Commercial-Company, Chief Isaac received a free trip down the Yukon River, and then by ship to San Francisco. Thousands of Dawsonites welcomed him upon his return. He later became an honorary member of the Yukon:Order of Pioneers. On Discovery Day he assumed a place of honour at the head of various pioneer parades, and sat alongside Dawson's white elite at banquets. Isaac died in hospital in Dawson on April 19, 1932, one of many First Nation victims of an influenza epidemic. Two white horses pulled his body in a wagon over the ice to Moosehide.
